Previous Work 2

Through this series of work I worked to recreate fairy tales though my own imagination. I wanted to portray these female characters as strong women who do not need a knight in shinning armor to come save them. (Unlike most of Disney's films). I focused much on the narrative aspect by creating sets that could give the illusion of a snapshot into these characters lives. Each of these characters are portrayed differently depending on their story and how they got themselves into a situation. While Little Red Ridding Hood is turned into more than just a helpless child, and actually could give the wolf a run for his money, the Ballerina from the Red shoes, is shown as weak and left to take care of her own problem because she let her arrogance put her into a bad situation. In each of these photographs I used at least five strobes
as well as used gels to give a more animated, storybook quality to the photographs.
